About Kaela Rae Jennings

Kaela Rae JenningsKaela was actively involved in the theatre program at Hilliard Davidson High School, often in a leadership position, and was also a member of Senior Choir. She was inducted into the International Thespian Society and National Honor Society and was a Renaissance White Card Holder.

She graduated a semester early from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC on December 18, 2009 with a degree in Health Education and Promotion with a focus in Community Health. During college she was inducted into Golden Key International Honor Society, Eta Sigma Gamma's National Health Education Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, and was recognized on the university's Deans List.

Kaela aspires to one day help kids who have a loved one with cancer and thus was involved with a group at ECU known as Up 'til Dawn. Up 'til Dawn is a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital organization that has branched out to nearly 300 campuses nationwide and does fundraising to offset the hospital's nearly one-and-a-half million dollar a day operating cost. Nearly 85% of every dollar donated to St. Jude goes directly to patient care! Through her involvement, Kaela helped raise nearly $100k for the hospital while at ECU and her Junior year she was the Executive Board Director for the ECU organization.

Kaela was also involved in a hospice program in Greenville, NC where she helped the families of cancer patients care for their terminally ill loved one. She helped families stay strong during tough times, and was there to help support them during their time of need.

During her last semester at ECU, fall of 2009, she served on the board of the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Ohio through an internship as a part of her graduation requirements at ECU. Though Kaela has graduated, Kaela was asked to continue to serve on the board, and she now serves as Fundraising co-chair.

While at ECU, Kaela also worked for Chili's in Greenville and at Movie Tavern in Columbus when she was home. Now that she's back in Columbus sudo permanently, she works at the 5th Ave. Buffalo Wild Wings.

Kaela is currently applying to graduate schools where she hopes to be accepted into a graduate psychology program. Stay tuned for more info!
